- Nigel Walley from Decipher, tells us that “the future arrived yesterday” and that media agencies and standard ad formats are required to ensure that the industry can continue to be profitable
- Samsung’s Dan Saunders announces that “killer app for TV is video [not TV]“. The same article summarises the inability of BARB to be able to support the myriad of devices and delivery mechanisms. Julian Dobinson from Sky discusses the importance of Sky View panel.
- GoogleTV launches in USA and this report says that technical issues and being blocked by major broadcasters is halting the progress
- Gidley’s Gossipings has posted his initial impressions of GoogleTV and reports that SeeSaw and 4oD both work out-of-the-box
- Virgin Media announces more details about their TiVo / Broadband enabled box
- Latest research from GfK is based on self-reported data (which is a bit dubious) but if you believe IP delivered content is the future, this data supports it saying that about a third of viewing is from online sources and another third from PVR.
