Nokia and Microsoft tie up

Nokia and Microsoft have agreed to join forces against Android and Apple in the smartphone market. Nokia CEO is claiming that this will now make the smartphone market a “three horse race” but he also gave employees a warning about the company’s financial future this week.

Post – PC Era

Ray Ozzie is leaving Microsoft and the FT reports today about a memo that he has sent to employees about that fact that we are in a post-PC era.   I’m sure that this is exactly the same as the memo sent about VCRs, dialup and numerous other technologies that have disappeared (like the bedside tea pot / cosy).  Anyway, it is an interesting two minute read about stuff that almost all of us are already working on – so feel yourself ahead of the curve!
